She began researching and writing the Equine Massage Therapy Program in 1996, and began teaching in 1997. She continues to research all areas of equine rehabilitation as well as practice therapy on a regular clientele including horses of all ages, breeds, and disciplines. She believes that this provides the best research available to a teacher.
Students of her programs are instructed in the methods of training and rehabilitation used by Kathy in her Massage Therapy and Personal Training practice in Aspen, Colorado, where she also served as the General Manager of the Aspen Athletic Club. In this capacity, she created, tested, trained qualified instructors, and taught classes in many aspects of health and fitness to human athletes at high altitude. Her personal athletic achievements include several state, regional, and national racquetball titles, as well as some powerlifting championships.
Kathy's students are schooled in developing both intuition and technique in order to apply the proper therapy for each individual indication. In recent years, Kathy's techniques have been applied in "gentle" training of horses, pain therapy, sports conditioning and performance, behavioral problems, and even imprinting. Her compassion and respect for each individual is apparent in her style.
Kathy is committed to providing well researched and practiced therapies and training to her students. She loves what she does, and graduates of her programs say that it shows!
